Chronicle Comics Roleplay Server Rules Welcome to Chronicle Comics, where heroes and villains alike shape the stories of a world rich in lore, action, and mystery. To ensure an enjoyable and immersive experience for all, we’ve established the following rules. Please read them carefully before diving into the adventure!
Respect and Collaboration: This is a space for creativity and camaraderie. Treat every member with respect and consideration, whether in or out of character. Discrimination, hate speech, or any form of harassment is strictly prohibited. Collaborate to create stories that highlight mutual growth, and resolve conflicts maturely and with understanding.
Role-Playing Excellence: This server values immersive, engaging roleplay. Craft detailed, thoughtful responses with proper grammar and spelling, and keep your character interactions balanced and fair. Avoid power-gaming (forcing outcomes or overpowering others), meta-gaming (using out-of-character knowledge in-character), and spotlighting (making everything revolve around your character). Respect the shared narrative and strive to make every interaction memorable. While we understand that roleplays come in all levels, we expect reasonable grammar and punctuation. You don't have to be perfect but your posts have to be readable.
Content Boundaries: Chronicle Comics thrives on compelling, action-packed storytelling, but all content must remain appropriate for a general audience. Avoid explicit sexual content or overly graphic depictions of violence. Mature themes may be explored but must be handled tactfully and with the consent of all participants. By mature themes, we mean violence or some other thing that isn't generally graphic in nature.
Character Development: All Original Characters (OCs) must be reviewed and approved by moderators before entering the roleplay. Each character should fit seamlessly into the Chronicle Comics Universe, reflecting its lore, tone, and style. Creativity is encouraged, but avoid characters that are excessively powerful or disrupt the balance of the world. Heroes, anti-heroes, villains, and everything in between are welcome—just ensure they are well-rounded and compelling. If we do not accept a character then don't take it personally. The character must fit the world and not be over-powered for the setting.
Character Limits: To keep the narrative dynamic and manageable, players may start with up to three OCs. Additional slots can be earned through consistent activity or contributions to the server. If you’re not sure about managing multiple characters, focus on building a single, standout story.
Multi-Scene Participation: Characters can participate in three active scenes simultaneously, provided they occur at different points in the timeline. Be mindful of continuity and ensure your character’s actions align with the chronology of the roleplay. A character cannot participate in one scene, learn something from a different scene, and then use that knowledge, skill, and/or ability in the current scene. It breaks up continuity and it isn't something we want to see.
Scene Abandonment: If a participant in a scene does not respond within five days and does not communicate their absence, the scene may be voided at the discretion of the remaining participants. Life happens—just let your partners or moderators know if you need a break.
Visual Representation: In Chronicle Comics, visual representation matters! Characters should feel like they belong in a comic book universe. We encourage members to create or use artwork that reflects classic or modern comic book styles. While anime or live-action images are discouraged, stylized art with a strong comic aesthetic is welcome. For those looking to create custom designs, AI tools or artistic commissions are fantastic options. We won't outright reject an anime representation but we are comic book inspired so any tweaks with comics would help.
Channel Etiquette: Keep discussions organized and use the appropriate channels for their intended purpose. Roleplay threads are for roleplay; keep general chat, memes, and out-of-character discussions in their respective channels. This ensures clarity and helps maintain the immersive environment.
Creative Freedom with Boundaries: While we encourage bold storytelling, be mindful of others’ comfort zones. If you’re introducing darker or intense themes, ensure all participants are on board. Communicate clearly about your character’s actions and motives to avoid misunderstandings or discomfort.
Admin & Moderator Support: Our moderators are here to maintain a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment. Follow their guidance and approach them respectfully with questions or concerns. If an issue arises, use the appropriate channels for resolution instead of escalating conflicts in public threads.
OC Power Limits When creating a new OC character, keep in mind that your power grid stats shouldn't be over-powered. You will have a tougher time justifying a 6 and especially any 7s on the power grid. This is written into the rules so that there are no shocks or surprises. 6s and 7s on the power grid means that this person is a serious problem or can become one. Multiple 6s and 7s makes this person damn near legendary. We understand that players want to play their favorite characters and we love to see it. However, we cannot allow over-powered characters because, unfortunately and inevitably, there will be a power playing issue.
Chronicle Universe Commitment: By joining Chronicle Comics, you agree to uphold the spirit of the server—collaborative storytelling in a richly detailed superhero universe. Dive into the drama, action, and intrigue, but always remember: great stories are built on respect, creativity, and teamwork. Welcome to Chronicle Comics, where the next legendary chapter is yours to write!
